There’s a new plan moving forward here in San Francisco that will establish a new government-run electricity system to provide power and automatically enroll you as a customer unless you expressly opt out during a specified period of time. It’s called Community Choice Aggregation, or CCA, and it gives the City of San Francisco the power to enter the retail electricity business, buying and selling electric power.
